Meylan, Brassus (unsigned, our attribution), mvt and case marked for retailer Marcus & Co. of New York, lady's miniature pendant watch, 27mm, heavy 14K gold OF original M. & Co. case with exquisite high relief details and eleven diamonds inset to rear, fancy crown with diamond cap, diamonds are European cut and likely total in excess of 0.80 ctw, swivel pendant with fancy bow, gold cuvette with 1902 presentation, silvered dial with engine turned center, fancy gilt Louis XV style hands, SW-SS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, 18-19J, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#12427. Gross weight of assembled watch 17.4 dwt (27.1 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates with scattered micro-fine scratches; nearly mint dial with few micro-fine surface scratches, some slightly darker toning along perimeter; excellent hands though of differing gilt tones; case shows very little wear, fine scratches to cuvette, no dents or dings, excellent engraving detail, opened case rear lid falls closed freely with gravity; tight bow with soldered repair at top, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
